
A Quick Guide to Our 1000W 380mm Clear Halogen Lamps
If you’re dealing with high-intensity thermal processing, you know the drill. You need heat, and you need it now. That’s exactly why we built these 1000W clear halogen lamps. At 380mm long, these tubes hit a very specific spot. They use short-wave infrared radiation, which is a fancy way of saying the heat jumps straight to your workpiece. It doesn’t waste time heating up the air in between. It’s direct. It’s efficient. Let’s talk about the heat. Pushing 1000W over a 380mm span means things get hot fast. Really fast. This is perfect when you need your material to hit that plastic state in a matter of seconds. But here’s the thing: you have to be careful. If you cram too much wattage into a tiny area, you’re going to scorch your material. The trick is finding that sweet spot between your power density and how fast your conveyor is moving. Keep an eye on it so you don’t end up with burnt hot spots. Why clear quartz? We went with clear quartz glass because it lets the full spectrum of radiation fly right through. No coatings getting in the way. And about those X-shaped metal clips we include—they aren’t just there to hold the lamp in place. Quartz is brittle. It hates being squeezed. When the lamp heats up, it expands. If it’s clamped too tight against a rigid frame, it’ll just snap. The clips give the glass some breathing room to move. A few tips for the install. First, make sure your power source is stable. Nobody likes a flickering lamp. These things take a beating, especially in PET blowing or shrink-wrapping lines, but they have one major weakness:fingerprints. Seriously. If you leave an oily smudge or a fingerprint on the glass, it creates a tiny hot spot. That’s usually how these tubes burn out way too early. Keep them spotless. One last thing—since these get incredibly hot the moment they’re on, don’t skimp on your safety guarding. Your team will thank you.
