What’s Inside, and Why It Matters
At the core is a quartz tube with a halogen filament inside, pumping out shortwave infrared. This isn’t just about getting hot—it’s about getting hot now. There’s almost no waiting around. The back of the tube has a reflective coating that throws all that energy forward, so more of it lands right where you need it. And that R7s base? It’s more than just a convenient fit. It’s a direct, solid connection that makes wiring a breeze and keeps things reliable. In a busy plant, that means fewer hot spots at the socket and way less downtime for maintenance.
Where This Power Really Shines
These heaters are the go-to when you need intense, focused heat. Think PET blowing, thermoforming, or plastic welding. The shortwave IR, combined with that high watt density in a short tube, lets you hit your target temperature almost instantly. Then, you can hold it steady, over and over again. But, there’s a trade-off. Packing this much energy into a small space means you need to plan for cooling and shielding. If your machine can’t handle the heat, the lamp and the parts around it will get too hot, and the lifespan will shrink.
