If you need heat that hits hard and hits fast, these 500W halogen lamps are your best bet. We designed them for those specific spots where you need a ton of heat concentrated in one small area. The cool part? They use short-wave radiation. That means they don’t waste time heating up the air around them. They just beam the energy straight into your material. It’s instant.

Getting the power right

We’ve found that 500W is usually the “sweet spot” for heat flux. Depending on what your power grid looks like, we can tweak the voltage. Whether you’re running a standard 230V setup or something custom for a transformer, we’ve got you covered. Just a heads-up: keep your power supply steady. If you get a bunch of voltage spikes, you’re going to fry the filament, and nobody wants to deal with that.

What’s under the hood

We wrap the tungsten filament in high-purity quartz glass. We use a halogen cycle in there, which basically stops the filament from evaporating. It keeps the lamp alive much longer than those cheap IR bulbs you see everywhere. For the connections, we usually stick with R7s or SK15. They’re easy. You can just drop them into most industrial heaters and get the wiring done in a flash. Now, if you need a coated tube to shift the wavelength, we can do that. Just keep in mind it usually knocks down the raw wattage a bit.

The real-world trade-offs

You’ll see these all over PET blowing and curing lines because they turn on instantly. But here’s the thing: 500W of short-wave heat in a tiny footprint isintense. You can’t just “set it and forget it.” You’ve got to keep an eye on the lamp ends. If the connectors get too hot, the quartz will crack. Plus, make sure your reflectors and housing can actually take the heat. If they can’t, you’ll end up warping your machine frame, which is a nightmare to fix.
